Where is my camera anyway?
Ahhh a breather....it's been a whole week and I have not had my camera out!
I have to say I have forgotten how to spend my free time. I used to sew and sew and crochet, knit and bake, but now all I do is Photoshop.
Does that make me a bad photographer?

Fast Action is...fast action
Today I was sorry I did not have my "real" camera. I watched the Twin Cities Marathon 10 mile from Kowalski's on Grand Ave. I was waiting for firstborn Adrienne. Thank goodness she raised her arms to wave when she saw her dad and I. I would have totally missed her, even though I was looking for "all black and purple shoes". Guess what? There was a LOT of black! Here she is.....yes at the leftside on the frame, thanks to the iPhone and ...well D....e....l.....a....y!

There is a first time for everything
I feel especially happy and fulfilled this week. Over the weekend I had three photo-sessions...all which went well...except for that mysterious lens flare that appears on one picture of each session on the subject's forehead....ghostly. BUT more importantly I actually had a shoot where I was so on, my camera settings were right on that I did not need to use Photoshop at all to correct minor details!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, would that be cool if every photo shoot went like that.

Lava Girl-Birthday Girl
Ruby, aka Lava Girl turned four today. Wow seems just like yesterday that I brought one studio light and a reflector over to Adrienne and Sams house to capture a three-day-old infant. I got some good ones, she is the first newborn I photographed successfully.
Ruby is now Lava Girl......

I'm always ready to grow
This is the reason Small Weddings will work for me! What a delight for me to capture Marsha's wedding last Saturday. I enjoyed the wedding party, the setting and using every technical aspect of photography I've
learned these past five years. I did not sweat and I was not nervous.
I guess I'm growing!

Things that Fly II
We flew to Rushford Minnesota this weekend and witnessed a hummingbird feeder at the FBO that was swarming with hummingbirds! I set my shutter speed to f/500 and here is what I got.
And here is the crop duster we shared the airport with that afternoon.
Then I walked down the runway and got a few shots of Tim doing touch and gos

We bought the new plane WAY last year....September...it has had all sorts of upgrades and changes to the panel, which make it even prettier than it was when we bought it. I have been waiting a LONG time for a plane photo shoot. I ordered the perfect evening during "sweet" light and headed for Redwing with directions to the pilot...(Tim) we must stop all action during those 7 minutes of the perfect lighting. Soft, golden and at the perfect angle in the sky for the BEST shot of our latest family member. We arrived....it would be perfect timing...I'll admit I was a little concerned I'd lose the light. AND then the pilot decides to fill with fuel!!!! Uggh....didn't you hear me? We need to wheel this bird to the tarmac with the evergreens and get it's portrait!
As you can see there is a ladder in this picture, not to mention the cars in the background!
Yep! She is thirsty. Hello? Only a couple of minutes of perfect light...can you hear me Ricky?
I stayed on ground and got this shot upon pick-up.

Bottling time finally arrived!!!!
The beer has been aged now for 2 months
The aroma was a hearty and grainy smelling.
The BOTTLECAPPER
Capping was easy and pretty fun.
Isn't that a pretty amber and actually pretty clear!
We added 4 oz of peach extract...smelled pretty peachy....
Stay tuned for family taste test on Andy's Birthday.
