The coach of the Hudson JV Dance team (Maddie) hired me to do the team pictures. I spent my day designing this poster. Maddie added a
few final touches and wallah! it's off to the printer.

Ruby is three months old already. She is developing a very charismatic personality. With this perfect smile who can resist?

Lily and I took pictures on Saturday.
She loved the new camera that my dad gave to me. This picture was before I set the lights to the proper f-stop, but too cute to pass by.

I really tried to get the light in those gorgeous green eyes. This one looked good.

The Argoflex E takes 12 ,6x6cm, images on 120 roll film. The shutter has "T" and "B" settings as well as 1/10th through 1/200th (no self timer). The aperture is f4.5 to f18. It focuses from 3.5 feet to infinity. It's got a wildly fun viewfinder hood complete with fold down flap so it become a sports finder ... there's even a little pop-up magnifier for fine focus - just like a real camera.

I copied this from http://www.merrillphoto.com/ArgoflexTwinlens.htm

This looks like it could be an advertisement for the camera.

Dad gave me a couple of old film cameras to display in my studio. How cool is that!

How cute is this?

6 Week Old Portraits

Ruby was just wonderful as I struggled to get one of those beautiful naked baby shots.
She is such a content baby and didn't fuss one bit.

Gorgeous picture of Abrianna.
Untouched by Photoshop.

Too cold for me at the Wildcat's opener. The Highland Arena must have been 20 degrees on the night it was 65 degrees (November 2).

I sat above it all and caught the puck as it flew into the nets.

Wildcats won 2-1

I should have turned Maddie's eyes to red for Halloween. She is such a good sport and a great subject.

Family portraits are tough. I couldn't even keep Ms. Lily in the frame for a good shot! I hope portraiture class has some good tips : )

Doorway to Color

Today Tim and I went for a drive to walk by the river. On the way we found a great little antique/junk house, and I bought a door. This is no ordinary door. It's almost as great as the Fort Snelling door I've featured in my portraits.

I was looking through an old folder tonight when I ran across this scrapbook page I made three years ago! I love this shot of the boys hanging onto their hats as the engine of the P-51 starts up.

On this site during the Civil War Caroline Augusta Woodhouse, known throughout the world as "Caddie Woodlawn," experienced the excitement of growing up in pioneer Wisconsin. Her tomboy adventures with her two red-headed brothers, and her fearless trust in the Indians who lived nearby, were faithfully recorded by her granddaughter, Carol Ryrie Brink, in her book, Caddie Woodlawn

New Name?

What do you think of my new name?
I 've been thinking about my niche in
photography and I'm thinking about changing
my name. Afterall, I discovered this portrait passion
after Miss Lily came into our world.

Self Portrait

Have you ever visited LaCrosse Wisconsin?
It is beautiful valley country with rolling hills and limestone bluffs and it has awesome farmscapes.

Here is a picture of our goodies we purchased during our visit on Saturday. I bought the pickles from two Amish woman selling them on a corner vegtable stand. I really really wanted to take their picture but chose to leave it in the car.

There may be a good reason to buy a new zoom lens. Yes, this was a bear. He/she saw us paddling and decided to take the swim after we passed.
Needless to say, we canoed several miles down the river before picking our campsite.

This photo was created painting with a flashlight.
I set my camera on at tripod in the dark for 30 seconds and painted the clothesline with a flashlight.

The Big Dipper

Night photography was so much fun on our canoe trip this Labor day weekend. We canoed the Namokogon River 30 miles!
The big dipper was a 30 second exposure on a tripod and 100 ISo. Click on this picture and you will see it too!

The State Fair

Lily really enjoyed the Merry-go-round at the State Fair.
Another baby on the ride screamed all the way til the end. I had fun trying to get that perfect shot. Didn't quite get it, but this is a nice shot of mother and daughter.

Deep Fried Pickles

Ever have a deep fried pickle? Yumm

Wow! Isn't that a great shot in the sunset?
We flew to Eau Claire Wisconsin to get a bite to eat.
The evening was perfect for flying.

Grandchild number 2

Lily was mildly entertained during our 32 week pregnancy shoot today. She stood by long enough to check out the new sticker on mama's belly and a brief kiss to her belly.
