Last January I put this date on my Google calendar to visit this museum. It was a girls day out as Adrienne and Lily and Ruby and I checked it out. The trip was topped off with a visit to the Hastings Co-op.....$1.00 malts and diner stools!

And another one
We had a great day fishing in Hayward today. It's amazing how fun this can be when it feels so foreign.

Running behind on the 30 day Photography Challenge
I kinda fell off my 30 day photography challenge yesterday...traveled to Hayward Wisconsin to enjoy the relaxing woods, lake and weather. I need to get a sunrise picture...and I hope to do that tomorrow morning. This 30 Day Photography challenge may indeed take longer.

Little Blu Ninja
Funny how creative I can be when my days are slow and hot: Summer
I was riding my bike this morning making an early delivery to the pool: Sudafed
And I spotted something blue on the street....curiosity got the best of me so I back tracked to see.
Lil Blu Ninja...laying there...abandoned....needed a new mission in life. I tucked him safely away in my bike pouch. He'll have a mission for awhile....the traveling gnome prank.
The travelling gnome prank is the practice of returning a garden gnome "to the wild". It involves stealing a gnome, taking it on a trip, and photographing it at famous landmarks, with the photos being returned to the owner.
I will take Little Blu Ninja on a summer adventure of photography. Where will he turn up next?

- Day 22 of the 30 day photo challenge: Symmetry
As I was creating my symmetry on the computer with Photoshop (and not through the lens)
I realized that the center of the picture reveals a Tiki God!
I decided he is Lono - Ancient Tiki God of Fertitliy and Peace
Can you see Lono?

Homes Sweet Homes
Day 21 of the 30 Day Photo Challenge: Home
I have always wanted to scrapbook all of the homes I have lived in. So today I decided to find every home I've lived in. I'll try to give detail to each place.
This is were I was born and lived til I was 11 years old. My dad and mom owned this house
2309 Stewart Ave. St. Paul, MN 55116 until they were bought out by a developer who put in
condominiums. We moved in 1973. I see the neighborhood from time to time and that pine tree is
still alive and well! It would be fun for me to take a picture of that tree now and post it. Maybe I will!
In 1973 my parents bought this beautiful home in the Macalester Groveland area in St. Paul.
1405 Goodrich St. Paul, MN 55105 I lived here til 1979. My parents sold this home in 1995.
When Tim and I married in October of 1979, we lived in these Sibley Manor apartments. We lived here for 4 years. 1341 West Maynard Dr. St. Paul, MN 55116
In October 1983 we found this wonderful home to rent in St. Paul. We lived there until October 1985.
1474 Cumberland Ave. St. Paul, MN 55117
In October of 1985, Tim and I purchased our first home. We paid $52,000.00 @ 9.9%
We lived here until June 1989
5353 43rd Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55417
In June 1989 we moved to Fort Worth Texas. Tim and I had this home built. It was 3 times bigger than 5353 43rd Ave S. It had 4 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms. No basement. 2 ½ car garage. Our lot was over-sized and the yard was stockade fenced. (and yes I hung the American Flag backwards by mistake)
5374 Crescent Lake Drive Fort Worth, Texas 76137
This is our home today. We've lived here since June 1995 = 18 Years!
I have lived in this home longer than anywhere else.

Day 20 of the 30 Day Photo Challenge: Long Exposure
After halfheartedly trying my hand at a daylight long exposure, I decided to pull out a shot from July 4 2008.
I love the way the streaks of light are exploding at the same time!
Here is my shot from the waterfall in the backyard. I wanted to go to Minnehaha today for this shot but the heat was high with high humidity. No air-conditioning in the CRV and all those steps at Minnehaha....

Colonial architecture
- Day 18 of the 30 Day Photo Challenge: Architecture
This historic house was built for Jean Baptiste Faribault in 1839. The house, a fine example of Colonial architecture, was built of yellow sandstone quarried locally with a red sandstone front. Read more here

Forty-Two Bottles of Beer on the Wall....
Day 17: Food
42 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.... and a tupperware pitcher full, what to do?
Yesterday I bottled the beer that Andy and I brewed on March 28. Yeah, I know a little late, but I thought "yunno I'm going to bottle it anyway" so I did. I ended up with 42 bottles and one pitcher. The pitcher is full because I didn't sanitize enough bottles. So I filled a pitcher and put it in the fridge. I can boil brats this weekend , I thought.

The 42 bottles of beer
So today I decided to make beer bread. I chopped up a jalepeno and cubed some cheddar cheese and tossed that into the batter, Yum. Probably would have tasted really comforting back in the cold April weather, but nonetheless, it tastes yummy.
So here is my Food picture for Day 17 of the photography challenge.

What is love?
Day 16: Love
30 Day Photo challenge
Baby Cardinal
So I was coming back home from a late hair appointment and I was thinking damn I have to do my photography challenge...before the day is out....it's 7pm! Yikes. This challenge really gets on my nerves if I don't have an idea ready to shoot. In my head I was thinking well I could go out in the back yard and find a L out of twigs and then an O and so on....
I pull up to the house and their is Tim rescuing a baby chick cardinal out of the front bushes. He had fallen and lost his way...the cardinal mother and father were swooping from the roof clearly watching Tim's every move. Then Tim placed baby safely back into his nest =LOVE.

Diner Stools
Day 10: Something New
Something new is something really old, but it's new to me! We went to check out the old cars in North St. Paul this Friday late afternoon...hit two antique stores and look what I found...the perfect diner stools for my flashback kitchen. $49 for the pair. When I checked out the woman behind the counter said they had been in the store just a few hours. I was the lucky finder today!
